Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide through our forms. Priority-entry requests may include your name, email address, mobile number, team name, club or crew, team readiness, and how you heard about The Dash. Contact requests may include your name, email address, team name, and message. Newsletter signups include your email address.
Our form-security provider may also process technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, and interaction data to distinguish people from automated traffic. Please do not include sensitive personal information in free-text fields.
We use Google Analytics, deployed through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the website. This may collect information such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, device and browser information, and referral source. We do not send names, email addresses, mobile numbers, team names, or message contents to Analytics.
How we use it
We use personal information to respond to questions, manage priority-entry interest, send event and registration updates you request, maintain our newsletter list, operate and secure the website, understand website performance and engagement, and administer The Dash. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate the website and its forms. Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager provide website measurement; Google Sheets stores form submissions; Resend delivers contact and priority-entry notification emails; and Cloudflare Turnstile protects forms from abuse. These providers process information under their own terms and may process or store it outside Australia.
Storage, security, and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect information from loss, misuse, interference, and unauthorised access. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, our event administration, and any applicable legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, request deletion where applicable, withdraw from event updates, or unsubscribe from the newsletter. Contact us using the form on the home page and identify the email address connected with your request so we can locate the relevant record.
Questions or complaints
If you have a privacy question or complaint, contact us through the website contact form. We will review the issue and respond within a reasonable period. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with our response.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised update date.
